Dr. Craig W.Brue, D.C.

Dr. Craig W. Brue, a Wisconsin native, received his B.A. degree from St. Olaf College in 1969. After spending two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Band, Dr. Brue attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1974.

After practicing chiropractic in Stoughton, Wisconsin for 25 years, he and his wife, Carol, and son, Christopher, moved to Tucson. After enjoying 6 years of retirement, Dr. Brue decided that he missed the challenge of helping patients get well. The Brue Chiropractic center was established in 2005, and since that time Dr. Brue has helped thousands of new patients.

Dr Brue utilizes the Gonstead, Palmer, Activator, and Impulse adjusting techniques for the correction of spinal problems. The doctor also has extensive postgraduate training in extremity (shoulder, hand, knee, and foot) problems. Dr. Brue's 40 plus years of clinical experience is an important factor when it comes to choosing your personal chiropractor for health care.

The typical senior patient does not need aggressive spinal adjustments to get excellent results. The type of adjusting procedure that is used for your personal treatment will be determined after examination and the review of imaging studies.

The Activator is a hand held adjusting instrument that provides a light, spring loaded adjustment. The Impulse is an electronic instrument that produces a repetetive tapping procedure. The use of instrument adjustments will especially benefit those patients with advanced osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, sciatica, pinched spinal nerves, and previous spinal surgery. With the difficult and chronic conditions that many seniors experience, a more aggressive adjusting method that produces a significant "snapping or cracking" sensation may actually be contra-indicated.

The aim of a Chiropractic Spinal Adjustment, whether done by hand or with an adjusting instrument, is to correct the structural problem that is affecting the function of your body. When spinal vertebrae are misaligned (subluxated), and when spinal joints are not moving properly (spinal fixations), your health is affected because delicate spinal nerves are damaged and irritated. When nerves are pinched, damaged or irritated, these nerves alert your brain that something is wrong. The symptom of pain is the usual result. Medications only cover up symptoms, and pain-killing drugs and cortisone shots also have dangerous side-effects.

My advice: Don't let any medical doctor, physical therapist or chiropractor treat your spine unless that doctor has given you a diagnosis based on knowledge, experience and the review of imaging studies. If your doctor can improve the structure of your spine, you will have less pain, and you will also function at a much higher level. Don't let any doctor do guesswork for spinal care.

When you become a patient at our office, you can expect "excellence in spinal care." We will not accept you as a patient unless we have an honest belief that our recommendations will help you. Please call our office at 520-825-8182 to schedule an appointment for care. We look forward to working with you.
